We won a grant!

A huge thank you to the Town of Vic Park for considering our application for their Community Restart Grant program. Our project entitled ‘Re-start & Expansion Kick-start: Phase 1 – Storage and Key Collection Items’ has been accepted and awarded with $3,862.

With these funds we will purchase additional shelving allowing us to move a large number of items from the store room to the library floor, and making space for some brand new purchases to refresh our collection.

Reopening our Library

We are excited to announce that we will be reopening the toy library next Saturday June 6th (9:30 - 11 am).

Before you come please ensure you have taken the time to:

  • Thoroughly wash or wipe your toys.

  • Count all the pieces and make a physical note of any missing or broken items.

  • Consider downloading the government app for COVID tracing.

When you visit us please adhere to the following social distancing guidelines:

  • One family member only to come inside the toy library.

  • Please enter your name and phone number in the attendance register.

  • Please do not bring your children in to play on the toys. (Infants in prams or carriers are fine.)

  • Return toys to the quarantine table - these toys may not be loaned out again in the same session. Roster volunteers will return the toys to the shelves before the next session.

  • Sanitise hands prior to browsing, and adhere to the 1 person per 2 square metres rule when browsing the toys.

Can I add myself to a duty roster?

Yes, there are 12 spots available on the current roster sheet in late June/early July, please fill your name and phone number in on arrival.

Can my child play on the outdoor playground that we share with the playgroup?

Not on Sat 6th, if you don't mind.

Will I have to pay fines for overdue toys?

No absolutely not!

When are my toys due back?

All due dates for toys currently on loan have been reset to Wednesday July 1st. From that date you will have your usual 1 week's grace period before a fine is automatically added to your account.

Closing our Toy Library in Response to COVID-19

The Carlisle and Victoria Park Toy Library will close effective immediately and until further notice.

This decision is based on the fact that we are a non-essential service, and that we have a responsibility to follow the lead of the Victoria Park Council (who have yesterday closed leisure centres and libraries) and do our bit to flatten the curve of viral spread.

The committee did not make this decision lightly. Current members have been sent email communications with more details. If you are a current member, and you did not receive an email, please contact the Committee on cvptoylibrary@gmail.com.

During this time of closure, the Committee is planning on making some changes, so that when we reopen we are better than ever.

The Committee wishes to thank its members for their ongoing support in these uncertain times.

Change in Opening Hours

In the last Committee meeting, the Committee voted to change the Toy Library’s opening hours. The final Wednesday morning opening will be February 26th (9:30 - 10:30am). Commencing Wednesday March 4th, the Toy Library will open on Wednesday evenings (7:00 - 8:00pm).
